Day One – Starting over

Oh happy day! I feel so much better today than I did yesterday! My body has been hurting so bad, and I am excited to start this juice cleanse. It’s called a Reboot and I am using the guidelines from Joe Cross from the movie “Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead”. Today is day one of juice only. I decided to go all the way. It’s for 5 days and I may try longer afterwards. I have his book called “Juice It To Lose It” as my guide, and the support of the community as well. I think that’s the key to success, the great support of the community.

I have spent the last three months stuffing my face and eating so many sweets. Right back in the swing of things. I know this “Reboot” will help me get back on track. It’s the cravings that get me, as I am sure you all know about. The truth is, I have spent more time this year sugarfree than I have consuming it. I have tried really hard to not beat myself up because I fell off the wagon, with the knowledge that I would climb back on it eventually.

I woke up this morning and drank 8 oz. of warm water with the juice from a lemon in it. I was so afraid that I was going to break and have coffee. I did prepare myself over the past week by weaning myself off it up until this day. It was okay, I drank the warm water and it made me think about drinking warm coffee therefore eliminating my craving for coffee. I made a half pot for my hubby and drank my lemon water.

I got up early, so I drank my first juice of the day quite early as well. Sunshine in a glass!

I am thinking I will wait a little longer tomorrow to do breakfast. By the time 9am came around I was wanting something to eat. The coconut water really helped, as well as plain water. Joe talks about the hunger pains being false ones in his book. I suspect it was. I was able to wait till 11:30am to do lunch and it was divine! The Hawaiian Tropic Green is so yummy! Five servings of juice a day is really sufficient to calm the hunger. I was thinking it was going to be hard and I was going to feel worse today. I can tell you, my body has calmed down with the inflammation already!

I just moved to Arizona last week, and the day after I got here I sprained my ankle. It still looks deformed at this point. I have been able to walk on it, but have been taking a ton of ibuprofen as well. Icing only does so much, and trying to stretch it is weird! It was hurting this morning! It’s now about 6pm and my ankle is feeling great! I have done 8736 steps today in addition to standing in the kitchen and juicing. Amazing! I can only imagine what I am going to feel like in 5 days! A million bucks is what I am guessing!

I am drinking my dinner while typing this and I will get to have one more juice before bedtime. I am excited to check in tomorrow and tell you how I feel after one whole day of juice. I have never done anything like this before. I have always added food to my cleanses. This really is a lot easier than I thought it was going to be when I first read about this Reboot Challenge last month. I needed something that was going to kick start my healthy choices again, this is it. Thanks so much Joe Cross! You have touched my life!

Until tomorrow…….
