Claim Jumper Apple Crumb Pie – it was so good! On Christmas Day 2015, this was one of the desserts available to us. It’s also my husband’s birthday and in our family we celebrate birthdays a little different. It’s tradition that you get your favorite meal and favorite cake baked for you on your birthday. What does that mean? It means, that you will be stuffed and you will have a sugar overload. Or maybe that’s just me!
For some reason we think if it’s homemade it’s better for you. This could be further from the truth! IT does sound good, in theory. The problem is, it’still processed sugar. I even tried using the ‘organic sugar’ – it’s still sugar and our bodies still react the same.
It’s 1pm on December 28, 2015. I have NOT consumed sugar today. I usually make it until about 4pm if I am lucky. I feel like a crazed woman at that point making my way into the kitchen to the container on top of the fridge that holds the sweets. It has cupcakes in it now – some of the best cupcakes one can ever consume. I know, I made them. They are left over from Christmas. I want one right now just talking about them.
How long do you last during the day trying to NOT consume sugar? Am I the only one this happens to everyday? Sometimes I last til 8pm – and always find a way to justify my consumption. Then, go to bed – guilty.
Today – I will use a tool that I used when staying sober those first days (see the about page). I will go hour by hour. One more hour without sugar. Hold off one more hour. Let’s see how that works. What works for you?
